Precision Synthetic Diamond Abrasives, Grown In-House
Genzee Diamonds produces synthetic diamond powder using the same CVD growth process behind our gem-quality and semiconductor-grade material — then micronizes and grades it into precision abrasive powders for polishing, lapping, cutting, and advanced material composites. As the hardest known natural material, diamond powder delivers cutting and finishing performance no conventional abrasive can match.
Why Diamond Powder
Diamond’s extreme hardness and wear resistance make it the standard abrasive for finishing the toughest materials on earth — from hardened tool steel and tungsten carbide to sapphire, ceramics, and semiconductor wafers. Unlike softer abrasives that wear down and lose cutting efficiency, diamond particles retain their edge over significantly more material removal cycles, giving faster processing, tighter surface tolerances, and longer tool life.
| Property | Conventional Abrasives (e.g. Alumina, SiC) | Diamond Powder |
|---|---|---|
| Hardness | Moderate–High | Highest known |
| Wear Resistance | Degrades with use | Retains edge significantly longer |
| Thermal Conductivity | Low | Very High — dissipates process heat |
| Surface Finish Achievable | Micron-level | Sub-micron / nanometer-level |
| Chemical Inertness | Varies | Excellent |
Grades & Particle Sizes
Our diamond powders are available across a broad particle-size range, from coarse grinding grades down to sub-micron polishing grades:
- Coarse (20–100 µm): High-stock-removal grinding and shaping
- Medium (5–20 µm): General lapping and intermediate finishing
- Fine (0.5–5 µm): Precision polishing and pre-final finishing
- Ultra-Fine (0.1–0.5 µm): Mirror-finish and optical/semiconductor-grade polishing
Available formats:
- Uncoated (loose) powder for slurries and suspensions
- Metal-coated (nickel or copper) powder for improved bond retention in resin, metal, and electroplated tools
- Custom particle-size distributions and blends on request

Why Manufacture With Genzee Diamonds
Producing our own diamond powder in-house — from the same CVD material stream as our gem and industrial diamond lines — means tighter control over purity, particle consistency, and batch-to-batch reliability than powders sourced from resold or blended stock. We support custom grit specifications, coated/uncoated formats, and volume orders from lab-scale samples to bulk industrial supply.
